About us

The CARE (Cyprus Animals Rescue Effort) Project is an initiative of the UANA Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting animal welfare in Cyprus. CARE is run by a group of volunteers who share a deep love for animals and a strong commitment to helping stray dogs.

Although we all have full-time jobs and families, we are united by our passion for animal welfare and our desire to make the world a better place for stray dogs. We focus on helping dogs find loving homes both in Cyprus and abroad through partnerships with organizations in the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Our Mission

Our mission is to rescue stray dogs and provide them with medical care, rehabilitation, socialization, and promote them for adoption. We are not a shelter, but we assist wherever needed and strive to give every dog a chance at a better life.

At this stage, our efforts are focused on one of the municipal shelters in Cyprus, as well as a few dogs in another shelter. We provide medical care and support in finding new homes for the dogs in our care.

Our Values

  • Compassion – We believe every dog deserves a chance at love and happiness.
  • Commitment – We are dedicated to improving the lives of stray animals.
  • Collaboration – By working with international partners, we create more opportunities for adoption.
  • Transparency – We operate with full accountability and integrity in everything we do.

How You Can Help

We rely on the support of our community to carry out our mission. Whether through adoption, fostering, donations, or volunteering, your contribution can make a real difference in the lives of the dogs we care for. If you're passionate about animal welfare and want to help, we would love to hear from you.

Together, we can give these dogs the happy and healthy lives they deserve.
