Raya

Found their forever home

Small (< 10 kg) size

female

Chihuahua

~10 years old

Raya is 9 years old and will turn 10 in March. Sadly, at some point she became "unwanted." The family she lived with could not cope — after the arrival of small children, they were unable to build a healthy and safe relationship between Raya and the kids. The problems kept growing, and eventually they decided to rehome her.

She was then given to another woman. Over the following year, more dogs appeared in that home, and this little girl began to suffer. Despite that, her former family never completely abandoned her: they continued to buy her food and take her for vaccinations. When it became clear that Raya was unhappy, they reached out to our volunteer for help — and that is how she came under our care.

In her previous family, there were two small children. From her behavior, it is clear that young kids are very stressful for her. She may growl or show her teeth to protect her personal space.

❗️For this reason, Raya cannot live in a home with small children. However, she will feel comfortable with children over 12 years old who understand and respect a dog’s boundaries.

In every other way, Raya is an absolute treasure. She is completely healthy, very affectionate and people-oriented, loves being held and cuddled, and truly enjoys being close to her human.

We are desperately hoping to find a loving home for Raya. At her age, she deserves to live in peace, love, and comfort — not to be passed from hand to hand like an unwanted toy.
