Teddy

Large (> 25kg) size

male

German Shepherd

~8-9 years old

Description

Teddy arrived at the shelter in May 2025 after some kind people found him and were concerned about his condition. As volunteers, we took him to a vet for examination and X-rays, which revealed an old fracture in his leg — in three places — as well as a diagnosis of leishmaniasis.

Despite everything, Teddy has adapted to shelter life and is doing his best. He can still run and enjoys his time outdoors, but unfortunately, his leg causes ongoing discomfort. After consultations with specialists, it’s been decided that the best option for his long-term well-being is to amputate the injured leg. The surgery is scheduled to take place soon.

Teddy is a strong and incredibly brave boy. He is full of life, affectionate with people he trusts, and always hopeful for a better future. Due to his energy and sensitivity, a calm environment without small children would be ideal.

What Teddy needs most is a patient and loving family who can offer him safety, care, and the chance to finally heal — both physically and emotionally.
