Joey

Sadly, Joey was surrendered to the shelter by his owner when she had to move to Iran.

She tried everything she could to take Joey with her, contacting airlines and searching for a way to bring him along. Unfortunately, she simply couldn’t find an airline that was able to transport him.

Giving Joey up was a heartbreaking decision, made not because he was unwanted or unloved, but because circumstances left his owner with no other option.

Her heart is still with him. She asks about Joey every day and worries about how he is doing. We can only imagine how painful it must be to leave behind a dog you love so deeply.

And Joey did absolutely nothing wrong.

He wasn’t surrendered because of his behavior. He wasn’t a problem. He didn’t suddenly become unwanted.

Sometimes life takes an unexpected turn, and a much-loved dog loses his home through no fault of his own.

Now Joey needs a second chance — a family who will open their home and heart to him and give him the security and love he once knew.
