Bailey

Medium (10-25 kg) size

male

Hound mixed

~1.5 years old

Bailey is not the dog who immediately seeks attention. He doesn’t bark or push forward for interaction — in fact, with unfamiliar people he may quietly step back at first. Despite this, Bailey is emotionally balanced and easy to handle. He stayed in a home for six days around his castration and adjusted smoothly to the new environment. Indoors he was calm, curious, and well-behaved — no whining or inappropriate behavior, just gentle exploration and lots of sniffing. At the shelter he shows fear toward men, but with patience and a calm approach, he gradually builds trust. On walks Bailey behaves nicely on the leash. After a cautious start, he enjoys exploring his surroundings carefully, staying close to his person. Sniffing is very important to him, so he would truly enjoy enrichment games and long exploratory walks. Bailey plays with other dogs and could fit into many types of families. He would especially thrive with people who enjoy walks and hiking, and who respect his need to explore the world at his own pace.
